The short version

The tone generator itself collects nothing: it plays sound locally in your browser, uses no microphone, records no audio, and needs no account. This policy covers the limited data involved in running the website around it — analytics, advertising cookies, and the messages you send us.

What the tool does and does not collect

When you play tones, every sample is synthesized on your own device and sent straight to your speakers or headphones. No audio is recorded, uploaded, or transmitted anywhere, and the page never requests microphone, camera, or location access.

Your tool settings — frequency, waveform, volume — are stored only in your own browser (local storage) and optionally in share-link addresses you copy. Clearing your browser data removes them completely.

Analytics

If you consent to analytics cookies, a privacy-friendly measurement service (Google Analytics, when configured) records aggregated visits such as which pages are popular and how visitors arrive. It is loaded only after you accept analytics in the consent banner, and you can withdraw consent at any time through the Cookie settings link in the footer.

If you reject non-essential cookies, no analytics code loads at all and your visits are not measured.

Advertising and cookies

Advertising on this site is served by Google AdSense. Google and its third-party vendors use cookies to serve personalised or non-personalised ads, measure performance, and — where you consent — tailor ads to your interests. You can learn how Google uses data on partner sites at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage or opt out of personalised advertising at https://adssettings.google.com .

Ad cookies load only after you accept advertising in the consent banner (or through Google certified consent tooling where it applies). Rejecting non-essential cookies means no ad cookies and no personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer, and through your browser cookie controls.

The site also stores your consent choice itself and basic display preferences (such as the color theme) in your browser local storage. This data never leaves your device.

Children

The tool is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. Because the generator collects nothing, there is nothing to delete — but a parent or guardian who believes a child has contacted us by email may write to request deletion of that correspondence.

Your rights (GDPR, UK, and CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal data about you, to data portability, to object to certain processing, and — under California law — to know what is collected and to opt out of sale or sharing. This site sells no personal information and shares data only with the analytics and advertising providers described above and only after your consent.

To exercise any right, email the operator through the address on the contact page. Requests are answered within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Contact and changes

The operator of this site is Tone Generator, reachable at the email address listed on the contact page. If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated and, where appropriate, consent will be requested again before any new cookies load.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tone generator record me?

No. The page synthesizes sound locally and sends it to your output; it never accesses your microphone or camera, never records anything, and never uploads audio. The only data the site can hold comes from optional analytics and advertising cookies you consent to.

How do I opt out of cookies?

Choose Reject non-essential in the consent banner, or open Cookie settings in the footer at any time to change your mind. You can also manage personalised ads through general ad settings and through your browser cookie controls, which override everything.
